Every woman has to have her bag of beauty essentials. From sun screens and anti-aging creams to false lashes and contouring kit – cosmetics and enhancements can cost you a good deal of money. While it isn’t entirely possible to completely stop spending on makeup and accessories, there are ways to cut down on the amount you spend on them.
You must have come across a ton of beauty hacks by now, but our post will focus on the ones that can help you control the unnecessary expenditure and splurging without compromising on your beauty!
Check out these beauty hacks:
That mini heart attack you get every time your compact powder crashes on the floor and smashes into a powdery mess – there’s no need to buy a new one. Just collect the powder back into the container and smash any remaining clumps into powder. Once that is done, add some rubbing alcohol (a tablespoon or more as required). Stir to ensure all the powder is soaked and then press it flat into the container with the back of a spoon. Leave it overnight and your powder will be as good as new!
You ran out of your make up remover or already exhausted your beauty budget on other things. What do you do? Get some coconut oil. This thing is magical even with the most stubborn makeup applications – plus, it’s cheap. It will remove the makeup and moisturize you skin too. Just rub it on your face, wipe off the makeup and then use your usual cleanser to clean any residue.
Yes, we know they’re all the rage these days – but, they can be way out of your spending capacity too. So, how do you get matte nails then? You DIY them! Simply take a clear glossy nail colour and add a little bit of cornstarch to it. Mix it well and then apply it as the top coat on your already painted nails. Super cheap, super easy, matte nails!
Whether it’s because you haven’t used it in a long time or because you didn’t cap it properly, your clumpy mascara is not entirely useless – yet! You can still get it back to its gel condition. Just pour two to three eye drops in it. Mix it with the wand and apply it to your lashes. Just as good as before!
Dry shampoo is a life saver. With all the hairstyling and getting rid of the greasy hair look, dry shampoo has definitely become a beauty essential. However, you don’t need to spend precious money on it every time you run out of it. Simply use corn flour mixed with a couple of drops of essential oil – whichever you like. That’s your dry shampoo right there.
P.S. If you’ve got dark hair, add a bit of cocoa powder to the mixture. It’ll blend better.
